Product Details

Kooltherm K10 PLUS pairs the Kooltherm phenolic core with an impact-resistant fibre cement outer face. That face is what sets it apart: it carries a Group 1 NCC fire classification and stands up to knocks in a way a foil or tissue facing cannot.

It is the board to reach for on carpark soffits and exposed ceilings with stricter fire or durability requirements. Quoted thicknesses include the fibre cement facing, which is why they differ from the plain K10 boards.

Selecting the Right K10 PLUS

Choose your thickness

Thicknesses run 31 mm to 96 mm including the fibre cement face, giving declared R-values from R1.10 to R4.15. Because the facing is included in the figure, do not compare these numbers directly against plain K10 thicknesses.

Confirm the fire requirement first

K10 PLUS is specified where Group 1 is required at the soffit. If your specification only calls for Group 2, K10 G2 will meet it at lower cost.

Consider the exposure

  • K10 G2 , standard concealed or low-risk soffits
  • K10 G2W , visible soffits where a white finish is wanted

Installation Notes That Prevent Callbacks

Need to confirm thickness against a Group 1 specification? Talk to our team .

  • K10 PLUS is heavier than the plain K10 range. Use fixings rated for the composite board and follow Kingspan's specified centres rather than assuming the same pattern as K10 G2.
  • Cut with tooling suitable for fibre cement and apply the usual fibre cement dust precautions.
  • Keep joints tight and evenly set out, particularly where the soffit is visible.
  • Check the fixing schedule against the current Kingspan installation guide before starting.

Why choose K10 PLUS over K10 G2?

Fire classification and durability. K10 PLUS achieves Group 1 under the NCC and has an impact-resistant fibre cement face, where K10 G2 is Group 2 with a foil facing.

Do the thicknesses include the fibre cement face?

Yes. The quoted 31 mm to 96 mm range is for the complete board including the facing.

Can it be cut on site?

Yes, using tooling suited to fibre cement and the usual dust control measures for that material.

Does it need a separate lining?

No. The fibre cement face is the finished surface, which is part of why it suits exposed carpark soffits.
