Overview

Aussie Plasterboard supplies the Kingspan Kooltherm range of rigid phenolic insulation boards to trade, commercial and DIY customers across Perth. Kooltherm boards use a fibre-free phenolic core with one of the lowest thermal conductivities available in a rigid board, which means a thinner board reaches the same R-value as a considerably thicker alternative , useful wherever headroom or floor area is tight.

All boards below are Australian made, CodeMark certified, compliant with AS/NZS 4859.1:2018 and Global GreenTag GreenRate certified.

K10 Kooltherm , Soffit Boards

Soffit boards for the underside of concrete floors and roofs: carpark ceilings, undercrofts and exposed slab undersides. Three options depending on the finish and fire classification you need.

• Kooltherm K10 G2 Soffit Board , foil-faced board, Group 2 NCC classification, 25 to 90 mm
• Kooltherm K10 G2W White Soffit Board , white finish for soffits left on show, 25 to 90 mm
• Kooltherm K10 PLUS Soffit Board , fibre cement face, Group 1 NCC classification, 31 to 96 mm

K17 Kooltherm , Insulated Plasterboard

A phenolic core bonded to a plasterboard face, so one board insulates and lines an internal wall in a single fix. Used on the internal face of masonry and concrete walls where a battened build-up would cost too much floor area.

• Kooltherm K17 Insulated Plasterboard , 35 to 100 mm including the plasterboard face, R1.15 to R4.15

K8 Cavity Board

Partial-fill cavity wall insulation with reflective facings to both sides, sized to build into masonry cavity walls between wall ties while keeping a clear residual cavity for drainage and ventilation.

• Kooltherm K8 Cavity Board , 25 and 40 mm, for double brick and brick veneer

Which board do I need?

If you are insulating the underside of a concrete slab, you are in the K10 family , choose G2 for a standard foil face, G2W where the soffit stays visible, or PLUS where the specification calls for a Group 1 surface or an impact-resistant face. For the internal face of a solid wall, K17 combines insulation and lining. For the cavity of a masonry wall, K8 is the board built for the job.
