What size cornice suits my room?

Profile size should match the scale of the room. Smaller rooms suit a 75mm profile like Aria™ or Symphony™, while larger or period-style rooms suit a 90mm profile such as Alto™, Tempo™, or Concerto™. Ceiling height also plays a role — taller ceilings can carry a deeper profile without feeling heavy.

What adhesive do I use to fix cornice?

Cornices are fixed using a setting-type jointing compound, applied in two passes — one to the wall and one to the ceiling face. The cornice is pressed into position, and excess compound is cleaned off before it sets. For the right compound for the job, see our compounds range .

How do I mitre cornice at internal and external corners?

Both internal and external corners are cut at 45°. Always dry-fit the mitre before applying adhesive, as slight wall variations may require minor adjustments. A mitre box keeps cuts consistent and reduces wastage.

Are cornices compatible with all plasterboard types?

Yes — all cornices in this range are compatible with standard plasterboard walls and ceilings. If you're lining with Gyprock PLUS™ or any other board from our plasterboard range , no special preparation is needed before fixing cornice.
