Overview
Double-sided reflective insulation built for wall cavities.
ThermalFlex™ Cavity is a high performance reflective insulation, vapour barrier and radiant barrier. ThermalFlex™ Cavity consists of cross linked, closed cell foam core for improved thermal performance. On each side of this foam core there are layers of reflective foil, one side with an antiglare and the inside reflective face which provides a high quality finish, particularly for shed applications. ThermalFlex™ Cavity is also a fibre free insulation and non-allergenic.
Cavity is the wall-facing member of the ThermalFlex range: reflective on both faces, so it works in a cavity where both sides see an air gap. Fibre free and non-allergenic, which is worth knowing on a retrofit where someone will be working in the roof space later.
Product advantages

- Extra Heavy Duty for strength, durability and maximum tear resistance.
- Reduces thermal bridging while minimising condensation in roof spaces as a water barrier.
- Achieves low flammability results when tested to AS/NZS 1530.2.
- Suitable for bushfire-prone areas and use in construction requirements with BALs of LOW – FZ.
- Antiglare coating on the outer layer for installation safety and high quality foil finish on the inside.
Applications
ThermalFlex™ Cavity is rated Extra Heavy Duty and is strong and durable, making it perfectly suited for use in wall applications. ThermalFlex™ Cavity is ideal for use in residential homes, commercial buildings and domestic sheds, and will improve the energy efficiency and comfort of these buildings. ThermalFlex™ Cavity also assists in reducing thermal bridging and minimising condensation along with providing high thermal performance as a radiant barrier. NCC compliance
- ThermalFlex™ Cavity complies with the National Construction Code (NCC) for pliable building membranes and sarking type materials
- and satisfies the following requirements:
- Complies with AS/NZS 4859.1, and meets the requirements of NCC 2022 Volume 1 J4D3(1) and NCC 2022 Volume 2 ABCB Housing
- Fire Hazard Properties and Bushfire Attack Levels (BAL):
- Complies with AS 3959 for Construction of Buildings in Bushfire-Prone Areas, and is suitable for use in all BALs including regions with a
- Bushfire Attack Level (BAL) LOW – FZ. ThermalFlex™ Cavity meets these construction requirements by having a flammability index ≤5.
- Meets the requirements of the NCC 2022 Volume 1 F3D3 for sarking-type material through compliance with AS/NZS 4200.1.

- The product must have the following properties:

- Material Value: R0.11 4 Vapour Permeability: 0.142 ug/N.s or less
- Flammability Classification: Low (≤5) 4 Water Control Classification: Water Barrier
- Store this product undercover in a clean, dry place in the pack provided.
