Product Details

Villaboard™ is a heavy-duty wall lining compared to plasterboard. Ideal for use in bathrooms and wet areas, if the waterproofing fails, you can rest assured that it won’t. Resistant to damage from moisture, it won’t deform or lose its structural integrity, which means fewer callbacks and less costly rectifications.

Our product also has incredible hanging power for tiles, hooks and fixings. With a tensile bond strength up to 75 per cent greater than wet area plasterboard, it can hold tiles with a maximum weight between 30 and 60 kg/m2 depending on the thickness of the tiles and lining sheet used, ensuring expensive bathroom tiles are always secure -

Please refer to the product installation guide for further information of maximum tile thicknesses and weights. Use it on walls and ceilings in bathrooms, laundries, kitchens and high-traffic areas, and even in multi-residential and commercial buildings.

What is James Hardie Villaboard?

Key Features:

  1. Moisture Resistance : Ideal for wet areas, Villaboard withstands exposure to moisture, preventing swelling or deterioration.
  2. Strong and Durable : Supports heavy tiles and withstands impacts better than standard plasterboard, making it an ideal choice for areas with high traffic or large-format tiles.
  3. Asbestos-Free : Modern Villaboard products are asbestos-free, ensuring safety in all applications.

Cutting and Installing James Hardie Villaboard

  • How to Cut Villaboard : For precise cuts, use a dust-reducing saw or the Hardie™ Score and Snap Knife. Always measure carefully and wear protective equipment to prevent inhalation of fiber cement dust.
