Product Details

EasyLap™ panel is a pre-primed fibre cement sheet with a shiplap joint along its two vertical edges. Panels are finished with a site-applied, roll-on textured acrylic paint to achieve a subtle rendered texture look. Lightweight yet durable, EasyLap panel is an easy to install, cost-effective broadwall cladding solution.

EasyLap panel is designed for use in residential single and medium-density buildings, including alterations and additions, where a uniform broadwall cladding is required. Panels are suitable for use on either timber or light gauge steel framed homes.

Best for

EasyLap™ Panel is a pre-primed fibre cement broadwall cladding sheet with a shiplap joint on both vertical edges. It’s designed to deliver fast, uniform wall coverage and a subtle rendered texture when finished with a site-applied roll-on textured acrylic paint.

  • External broadwall cladding where you want clean, consistent vertical joints and a modern “render look” finish.
  • Residential single homes and medium-density builds, including renovations, alterations and additions.
  • Tall, continuous feature walls (available in longer lengths such as 3600mm).
  • Projects needing durability in Australian conditions: resistant to rot, termites and moisture damage.
  • Bushfire-prone builds requiring products that meet BAL40 requirements (system suitability depends on the full wall design).
  • External tiled wall applications (as a tiling substrate) when designed within the manufacturer’s tiling guide limits.

Selecting the Best type of product

You’re buying the product only (we don’t install), so the goal is to order the right sheet size and choose the right “finish pathway” for your project.

B) External tiling substrate (specialised use)

If you tell us your wall height and whether you’re doing a full wrap or feature sections, we can help you minimise joins and wastage.

  • EasyLap™ Panel can be used as a substrate for external tiled wall applications, with tile weights up to 50kg/m²—provided the build stays within the external tiling guide requirements (wind classification limits, maximum wall height, stud spacing, full support at joins/edges, screw fixing only, and mandatory full waterproofing system prior to tiling).
  • Timber or light gauge steel framing: EasyLap™ Panel is suitable for both.
  • Bushfire requirement: EasyLap™ Panel is stated as fire resistant and adheres to BAL40 requirements (confirm the full system design and approvals with your certifier/designer).
  • If you’re tiling externally: the tiling guide has strict scope limits (including maximum 6m wall height and maximum 450mm stud centres), so confirm your project is within scope before ordering.
  1. Choose your finish pathway A) Render-look broadwall (most common use) Choose EasyLap™ Panel when you want a subtle, rendered texture finish achieved with a roll-on textured acrylic paint over the pre-primed sheet.
  2. Choose the sheet size that matches your wall geometry EasyLap™ Panel is available in multiple sizes, including longer lengths (e.g., 3600mm) that reduce horizontal joins and suit tall, continuous feature walls.
  3. Confirm your build type and performance needs (so you don’t order the wrong product)

What we need from you to quote fast

  • Application: “render-look cladding” or “external tiling substrate”
  • Frame type: timber or light gauge steel
  • Wall height + approximate m² (or a plan)
  • Preferred sheet length (if known)

FAQ

What is EasyLap™ Panel?

It’s a pre-primed fibre cement sheet with a shiplap joint along both vertical edges, used as a cost-effective broadwall external cladding solution.

What finish does it give?

It’s typically finished with a site-applied, roll-on textured acrylic paint to create a subtle, rendered texture look.

What buildings is it designed for?

It’s designed for residential single and medium-density buildings, including alterations and additions, where a uniform broadwall cladding is required.

Can EasyLap™ Panel be used for external tiling?

Yes, it can be used as a substrate for an external tiled wall application, but only when the project remains within the external tiling guide scope and limits (including maximum tile weight of 50kg/m² and mandatory full waterproofing prior to tiling).

Is EasyLap™ Panel suitable for bushfire areas?

James Hardie states it is fire-resistant and adheres to BAL40 requirements. Confirm the full wall system design and compliance with your certifier/designer for your specific build.

What makes the shiplap joint useful?

The shiplap joint helps create a consistent vertical joint appearance for broadwall designs, and for tiling applications, it can help create a level substrate and reduce differential movement that can contribute to grout cracking.
