Gyptone ™ Access Panels

Product Overview

Gyptone Access panels are designed to allow easy access for inspection and maintenance of services located above the Gyptone perforated plasterboard acoustic ceilings. Available in each of the four Gyptone board patterns,they consist of a plasterboard frame that is easily set into the ceiling and a 510mm x 510mm hatch piece with a matching perforation pattern that fits neatly into the frame to create a seamless look.

Typical Applications

Gyptone Access Panels are typically used in Gyptone acoustic ceilings in offices, theatres, restaurants, shopping centres and hotel foyers.

Product Options

Gyptone Access Panels are 600mm x 600mm including the frame with a 510mm x 510mm x 12.5mm hatch piece/opening measurement. The frame weight is 0.9kg and the hatch is approximately 3.6kg.

Product Manufacture

Gyptone Access Panels are manufactured for CSR Gyprock by worldwide plasterboard specialist Saint-Gobain.

Matching the panel to your Gyptone ceiling

An access panel only disappears if its perforation pattern is the same as the boards around it, so order the panel against the board that is actually going into the ceiling. These are the Gyptone perforated boards we stock in Perth:

Planning access before the ceiling goes up

Set the panel positions while the services above the ceiling are still visible. A 510 mm opening is enough to reach a valve, a damper or a junction box, but not to work in, so put a panel at every point that needs periodic inspection rather than relying on one central hatch. The hatch is a plasterboard piece at roughly 3.6 kg , heavy enough that panels above circulation space should be positioned where a ladder can be set squarely underneath.
